On Thursday, April 26 2018, the Northern Health Foundation held its first Corporate Networking Breakfast of the year at the Northern Centre for Health Education & Research (NCHER).
A question and answer session was hosted by Northern Health Foundation Board Member, Chris Turner, with special guest, former Australian rules footballer, Tony Shaw.
Tony Shaw, who grew up in the northern Victoria suburb of Reservoir, delved into his upbringing. From a young age Tony was a hard worker, having worked two paper routes before the school day and it’s obvious to see how this translated into him becoming an AFL premiership winning captain for the Collingwood Football Club.
Tony never rested on his laurels and expanded his career into coaching in the AFL, media and real estate.
After the question and answer session, guests were invited on a tour of the simulation lab where future nurses and doctors are able to gain firsthand experience using state of the art medical mannequins and equipment. These facilities simulate a variety of different medical situations, providing a great learning experience for students and continued training and improvement of Northern Health staff.
We’d like to thank all who attended the breakfast and a special thank you to Tony Shaw.
The next Corporate Networking Breakfast will be held in August.
