Bev Carman at Kilmore Race Club

For the past 15 years, Bev Carman, Northern Health Foundation Patron, has been hosting events in support of purchasing life-saving equipment for Northern Health. This year, Bev hosted her event at the Kilmore Racing Club where she’s done so for the past 10 years.

“Saturday was just unbelievable, with good food and lots of laughter it was just wonderful. Everybody kept telling me how much they enjoyed themselves. It was like having a beautiful luncheon with friends. There was about 60 of us and I was able to sit with them and loved every minute of it,” Bev explained.

With the help of the incredible effort from Kilmore Racing Club, Bev was able to raise $7,000 and has been able to purchase a blanket warmer for Northern Health’s Day Oncology.

Nurse Unit Manager of Day Oncology, Melissa Gwynne, was thrilled by the purchase of the blanket warmer.

“Bev has been a great support to our Cancer Service. The blanket warmer is a great piece of equipment and an essential item for our patients, especially those undergoing scalp cooling. Having nice warm blankets is a great comfort to the patients and can assist in providing patients with a positive experience when having chemotherapy. Thank you to Bev!”
